Obituary

Beverly J. Byron August 3, 1925 February 6, 2013 Beverly J. Byron died Feb 6th at Mercy Hospital, Portland Maine after a short illness. She was born Aug 3rd, 1925, in West Sullivan Maine. She was married 54 years, to James J Byron. They were married on May 5th, 1945 at Dow Air Force Base - Bangor Maine. She attended Sullivan High School, held an Honorary Degree from Husson College. Beverly moved to Madison in 1947, which she was pleased to call her home town, and where she cherished her many friends. She was a strong and extremely positive woman who leaves her family and friends with many loving memories. She was a 55 year member of the Madison Women's Club - where she served 3 times President, 25 year Parlimentian, membership Chairman, President of Dist #4 of Maine Fed of Women's clubs. She was also Executive Director of the Wesserunsett Arts Association. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Painting and crafts were her hobbies. She worked for many years in Law and Insurance. Beverly was predeceased by her husband, parents Bernhard D Joy and Gladys W Joy, brother Bernard W Joy. Survived by nephews and nieces by marriage. Robert Byron and wife Jamie - No Yarmouth ME; Stephen Byron and wife Linda - Upton, MA; Edward Byron and wife Donna - Lilburn, GA; MaryBeth Byron Mondello - North Reading, MA; Diane Byron Cooney - Billerica, MA; Kathleen Byron DallaCosta and husband Everett - Clearwater FL; Peter James Byron - Weymouth, MA; Greg Byron - Weymouth, MA; Michael Byron - Weymouth, MA; Judith Byron - Weymouth, MA; Mari Byron Abbott - Weymouth, MA; Toni Byron Orr and husband Thomas - Port Charlotte, FL; 21 Great Nieces and Nephews. The family will have a graveside service in the Spring at Riverside Cemetery in Hancock. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a donation or memorial contribution to Madison Woman's Club Library Trust Fund.
