Traditional funeral services usually consist of have a visitation period one day with the funeral services on the following day. These services can be held either at the funeral home, in a church or at the residence. However, some families now choose to have the visitation period just prior to the funeral service.

There is not a right way or a wrong way to conduct a service.   What matters is that it honors the person who has passed on and holds meaning and brings comfort to those left behind.

Immediate burial is for the family that wishes not to have any type of service or formal tribute for the deceased.   Arrangements are made with the cemetery for opening and closing of the grave at a specified time.   The burial is usually completed without a clergy person or family members present.   With this type of arrangement, embalming is not usually required.
