Thomas D. DeLuca Sr.

January 4, 1931 ~ September 22, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Portland -Thomas D. DeLuca Sr., 86, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 after a brief illness at Mercy Hospital Surrounded by his loving family. 

 Thomas was born on January 4, 1931 in Portland the son of Anthony and Lucy (Toppi) DeLuca.  He graduated from Portland High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps serving as a military police officer. Upon his return from the service he met and married the love of his life Isabel Maiorano they married on July 30, 1950. Thomas and Isabel settled in Portland where they raised their three children. 

Thomas was a successfully and very well liked route salesman for several different local linen and uniform companies, he worked for over 20 years for Cintas.

 Thomas had a true passion for his family spending as much time as he could with his children and his wife. He enjoyed Golfing, Bowling and Fishing. He was also known for his ability to build things and he enjoyed wood working. He will be remembered for his dedication and love for his family even spending the last year of his life caring for his wife in their home.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 67 years Isabel DeLuca of Portland, one daughter Luci Woods of Buxton, two sons Thomas and his wife Mary of Lewiston, and Anthony and his Fiancé Sue Fisher of Minnesota, also by four grandchildren Anthony DeLuca Jr and his wife Becky, Joseph and his wife Lindsey, Dominic  DeLuca and Aaron Woods. Thomas is also survived by four great-grandchildren and four sisters Violet, Carol, Irene, and Shirley, also by three brothers Norman, Rocco and Tony and by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 10am to 12pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12pm. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland following the service.
