Solly was a much valued employee first of my father, then me, at our Portland News Co. We were fond of Solly. He was an excellent employee. I remember one special story about Sol that I want to tell you. Many years ago my mother was quite sick, and need numerous blood transfusions. Sol had never given blood before, and frankly, he was a bit terrified of the process. Still, he stepped up and donated blood, to the appreciation of my dad and our entire family. It meant a lot to us then, and it was something I always remembered.

Sol was a very nice man, I always enjoyed talking with him at Forest city cemetery visiting our dear families, what a pleasure to have known him. God Bless the family especially dear daughter Melanie
