I met Ron while working as a Corrections Officer at the Cumberland County Jail. He was a larger-than-life figure that was more down-to-earth than almost anyone else I have known. I consider him a friend, mentor and an inspiration. Ron helped me initially get into full-time law enforcement.. He will always remain in my heart and memories forever. Godspeed & God Bless!

Rest well Ron,
I met you while I was on PPD. You were a great cop and a real inspiration to me. You always had a smile but took no grief from anyone. You were always approachable and had no problems giving good advice to a new guy, even if he was from a different department. I remember when you did some diving for us. And though it was winter and the visibility in the water was close to zero, you had no problem diving into that bay and doing your job for us. Thank you, Ron, luv ya man...

I remember Ron's smile and laughter during our power lifting workouts. What a great help he was as we prepared for competitions. I'm so sorry for your loss Pat, and so glad I got to see you both on voting day. My condolences to the Damon family.

Ronnie, you are considered by my father to be one of his closest friends in life and one of the best police officers another officer could have worked with and for in a career. Growing up I heard many of your epic stories as you told them and have heard my father proudly repeat many of them to others over the years. I am only half your age but because of your friendship with my father in some ways I feel like I know you as much as the next guy does. To Ronnie’s family, I am sorry for your loss! Ronnie was larger than life but real and will remain that way in death to his closest friends and those such as myself who have had the privilege of knowing him. He made an impression on my life from an early young age. As a young boy he gave me pointers on swimming and then threw me into the deepest parts of the water on the beach to get me to swim. This was his way to get me to see that I could do it. Ronnie was also a very compassionate man and concerned for others as I experienced firsthand only a few short years ago when I was injured in training and out of work for a while with significant pain. Ronnie, hearing of my condition, came to see me at my house on his own and by himself. We talked for a couple of hours and his compassion for others was evident. I could see on his face that he knew I was really hurting. What I don’t know is if he could see past the pain on my face to see how much his visit meant to me. I will never forget Ronnie. He is every bit the human being described by others. Rest in Peace!

Ron was a great friend! He was a wonderful colleague in Drug Law Enforcement and in the USAR Special Forces. I will never forget how Ron always volunteered for and excelled at the toughest of all assignments. He was always willing to help all his friends. Ronnie was a true inspiration to me and lived his life to the absolute fullest. Just 3 years ago he gave a wonderful eulogy for my Dad, Jack James who adored Ronnie. I always enjoyed when Ron stopped by at my dad's house and listened to their stories about their youth and Ron's adventures. I thank Ron for his dedicated and honorable service to our country. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Throughout our journey we meet many people. Some we forget, some stay with us, and some leave such an impression that they stay with us for a lifetime. Ron was such a person to so many of us. You will be sadly missed but your footprint will never be forgotten.

From our first meeting so many years ago I was always able to count on Ron to provide me with wisdom and guidance in both Law Enforcement and Life. A true hero to so many and an inspiration to many more. The stories we shared and the adventures we had together I will take to the grave. I love you and miss you my friend.

Ronnie was a great guy and I really looked up to him all my life - so sad! I became a commercial and recreational deep sea diver because of him. One of the most exciting things I have ever done in my life, and still count it as my most joyful activity. Please give my condolences to Mark, Melanie and others in his family. He will be missed, a larger than life kind of guy. I have so many memories of his personality and antics, a real man's man with a heart of gold and a fearless nature. There will be no replacement for Ronnie Damon! Although his son Mark may be able to pick up the ball.
