Robert Chester Chadbourne, 71, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on March 27, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born September 23, 1946 in Portland to the late Walter G. & Margaret E. (Herwood) Chadbourne.
Robert attended Portland High School. He worked for 30 years in the marine business. He loved a day at Scarborough Downs, a good song, repairing old TVs, radios, The Bruins, and most of all his family and friends.
Bob is survived by: his wife of 54 years Linda; daughter, Julie; sons, Ron and his wife, Courtney, Tom and his wife, Kathy, and John and his wife, Betsy; grandchildren, David May and Kristen May, and Joseph, William, Henry, Oliver, Tanner, and Lyla Chadbourne; brothers, Harold and his wife, Josephine, Clinton and his wife, Bonnie; and Ronald and his wife, April; sisters, Mary Darling and Lillian Noble; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by: his son, Robert Chadbourne; brothers, Walter Chadbourne, Tommy Chadbourne, and Peter Chadbourne Sr.; and sister, Adelaide Nadeau.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 2, 2018 A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland. Interment will be at Forest City Cemetery in South Portland.
A reception will be held at 109 Ridgeland Ave., South Portland following the interment. All who knew Bob and loved him are welcome to attend.
