WESTBROOK -Richard A. Boclair, 84, of Teri Circle, passed away peacefully September 6th at the Gorham House, with his loving family by his side. He was born February 4th, 1933 to Fred and Louise (Bickford) Boclair in Lewiston where he attended schools. In 1950 he married Nancy (MacClearn). He joined the US Marines Corp where he served in the Korean War. Upon coming home from his tour in the US Marines, he began his career of 47 years as a Truck driver. Starting with Eastern Builders finishing with over 15yrs at Pottles Transportation where he received several awards of excellence for outstanding driving¸ until retiring at the end of 1999. After retiring he volunteered at the New England Rehab for 12 years until losing his wife Nancy of 62 years. He loved his “Goober” and enjoyed sharing a donut for breakfast with his cat Stubby. He always said she was the boss, “she lives here, I board here”. He was an avid fan of the GB Packers and the NY Yankees. He liked fishing, playing solitaire and watching old westerns.
He was pre-deceased by his wife and two grandchildren, Ricky and John.
He is survived by his six children Donald Boclair and his wife Cindi, Sally Demko and her husband Donald, Sandy Sico and her husband John, Daniel Boclair, Kenneth Boclair, Mark Boclair and his wife Tammy.
He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, several Great-grandchildren, as well as Great- Great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful Nurses at the Gorham House for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home 660 Brighton Ave, Portland ME
