Ralph Edward Brown Sr

October 24, 1943 ~ May 31, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

RALPH EDWARD BROWN SR. (“Brownie”) 73, Scarborough, Maine, passed away peacefully May 31, 2017 after a lengthy illness at Mercy Hospital.  He was born October 24, 1943, in Portland, Maine the son of the late Elmer and Mary (Dusty) Brown.

He graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1962, then went on to marry his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Jean Johnson Brown.  Shortly after their marriage, they settled into Scarborough where they raised their three children and have had a life time of memories with their families. 

Ralph enjoyed many things such as hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking.  He was one of the founding members of the Sha-Goie-Watha Sportsman Club in Otisfield and a proud member of Odd Fellows in Gorham.  Ralph retired from Hannaford Brothers after 41 years of service, in 2006.

He is predeceased in his death by his parents and his son-in-law, Stephen Pallotta.  He is survived by his wife Jean, his son Ralph Brown Jr. and wife Kimberly of Wilmore, KY, his daughters, Kimberly Farnham and her partner Vincent Lund of Buxton, and Diane Gallant and her husband Michael of Scarborough.  He leaves behind his nine beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Cody, Tyler, Sarah, Dominique, Jacob, Camden, Mitchell, and Teryn and a great grandchild, Graison.  He also leaves his sisters, Ruth Fields of Portland and Phyllis Sullivan of Buxton, as well as, a large extended family.  His funny, but dry sense of humor will be missed immensely.

The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for their wonderful caregiving, as well as, the Medical Staff at Mercy Hospital, Unit 4B for the tremendous care given to Ralph during his time of illness.
