Oscar N Michaud, 84, of Ponderosa Lane, Biddeford, ME passed away on Thursday, June 1, at the Seal Rock Rehabilitation Hospital. Born in Taunton, Mass., he was the son of Oscar A and Anita F (Champagne) Michaud.
He graduated from Monsignor James Coyle Memorial High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Janet A Michaud, and completed his undergraduate studies at Northeastern University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Oscar worked as a leader in quality for over 30 years. During his early career, he worked at Sylvania, Raytheon and Analog Devices. In 1980, the family moved to Maine when he began work as the Director for Quality and Reliability for Vishay/Sprague in Sanford. In 1991, he moved to Vermont to work as Quality Director for Loctite Luminescent Systems. After retiring in 1996, he returned to Maine. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, tennis and traveling with his wife. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. An avid Celtics fan, he also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots.
He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Janet A. Michaud, his sister Lucille and brother Normand. He is survived by a son, Gregory, and his wife Kelly of Falmouth, and a daughter, Elizabeth Michaud; his four grandchildren, Adrienne, Madeline, Cameron and Lucas; his brother Paul R Michaud, of Connecticut.
