Maria (Ruotolo) Bifulco

Portland- Maria Bifulco, of Portland, passed away on March 3, 2018. Maria was born on December 15, 1935 to Angelo Ruotolo and Maria Giovanna (Nappi), in Camposano, Italy.  In 1954, Maria married Antonio Bifulco who was her loving husband for 59 years.  In 1958, she courageously ventured to America in hopes of creating a better life for her family. She accomplished that and so much more.   

Maria worked tirelessly at Fairchild for 25 years.  Although she finished only the 3rd grade in Italy, that did not stop her from being one of the most productive clippers that they had. She loved to cook for her family, took pride in a clean house, and loved to bargain shop. Maria’s constant passions throughout her life were love of family and friends.  She was a fierce friend and confidant and was loved by all. 

Maria is predeceased by her husband Antonio. She is survived by her son Leo and wife Cheryl; her daughter Lena Brooks and husband Brian. Her six grandchildren, Antonio, Eileen Marie, Andrew, Alexandra (fiancé Nick), Madeline (husband Nat) and Spencer, brought their Nanny great pride and joy.  She is also survived by a sister Vincenza Riccardo of Cimitile, Italy, and brother Giuseppe Ruotolo and wife Assunta of Portland.

The family wishes to thank friends and loved ones for their prayers and support. All are invited to a visitation on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal St., Portland.
