Louis Sammy Toppi

Louis Sammy Toppi, 86, passed away at his home in Westbrook on December 7, 2017.

Sam, as he was known by most people, was born in Portland to Nunzio and Ripalda Toppi on June 21, 1931.  He worked for the family business, N. Toppi Sand & Gravel, from the time he was a teenager to his retirement.  He was happiest when he was working to take care of his family.  Sam was a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Aimme Seeber and her husband, Robert; son, Alan Toppi and his wife, Denise; grandson, Benjamin Toppi and his wife, Rachel; and great-grandchildren, Georgia Toppi and Michael Toppi; all of Westbrook.

At Sam’s request there will be no services.  Donations in Sam’s memory may be made to the Animal Refuge League or Friends of Feral Felines.
