To friends and family of Lou Nerren: Kindly accept my sympathy, deeply felt. Vividly I remember several brief encounters during 2012 and 2013. At the time, we focused on Centering Prayer and the pivotal role it can perform in one's life.
She aspired to join Contemplative Outreach training sessions in Butler, N. J. This group trained people seeking deeper life of prayer and encouraged them to return to their communities and teach. Two people were required to attend together. At the time, I unfortunately was not able to join her.
However, Lou gave me a well-marked copy of Thomas Keating's Open Mind, Open Heart. I still have it as a guide. She also loaned me a copy of Cynthia Bourgeault's book in which she elaborates on Keating's approach.
Lou's introduction to Centering Prayer has proven to be an indispensable guide, useful in any situation, throughout my life. What an incredible gift! I am much indebted to her.
Blessings! Sally Merrill
