KIMBERLY ANN FARRELL

SCARBOROUGH—Kimberly Ann Farrell, 49, died December 1, 2017 at Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.  She was born July 12, 1968 in Portland, the daughter of the late Henry Dunsmore and Antoinette Chapman.

Kim graduated from Gray/New Gloucester schools. She went onto get her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, followed by Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Social Services. Kim was working toward her Master’s Degree in Psychology. Kim proudly held certifications of CRMA, DSP, PSS and was most recently employed by Wardwell Retirement and Port Resources. She loved her work as well as the people she cared for.

Kim was an auxiliary member of the Portland Eagles in Portland, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Scarborough. Her favorite place to spend her time was Wassamki Springs Campground in Scarborough. The day that she and her husband John left for the winter, she would start the countdown of days until they could return in the spring. They have spent the last 7 summers at the campground. Kim loved the water and anywhere warm. She was outgoing, happy and generous, always doing for others before herself. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.

Kim is predeceased by her father, Henry Dunsmore, mother, Antoinette Chapman, and younger brother Richard. She is survived by her loving husband, John Farrell of Scarborough, daughter, Jenna  of Florida, son, Kurt of Lewiston, sisters, Laurie and Katrina, brother, David, grandchildren, Leighla and Kaisyn, step-son, Mat and wife Amy, step-daughter Amanda and husband Eric, and grandchildren Kolby, Lincoln, Ronan, Parker, Anaya, and many other family members.

A celebration of life will be held January 12, 2018 (time tbd) at the Portland Eagles Club, at 184 St. John St. Portland.
