What a life well-lived! Far too short, extraordinarily well-lived. I recall how Katie lit up the room when she entered. Whose spirits weren’t lifted by her beautiful, engaging smile? Such a remarkable young woman whose optimism, compassion, generosity, and indomitable courage will live on. I’m so grateful to have known Katie. My deepest condolences to John, Chris,Dave, Franz, Conrad, and all who knew and loved her.

To the family and friends of Katie....as I knew her and will always remember her...
I was deeply saddened to hear that Katie was experiencing a setback with breast cancer. Throughout the last 1.5 year, I received updates from a close friend of her and through that communication, I kept her close in my heart.
I will always remember Katie from my younger days, playing at the Horton's house with her, falling on the frozen river on my head (ouch!) and her friendly and sparkling smile throughout high school and St. Lawrence. We were able to reconnect shortly after college in North Carolina when she and John moved south, and we all worked at Little Caesar's. We shared so many laughs during that period of our lives.
Katie will forever be loved and missed by so many. A beautiful person who made the world a kinder place, for sure.

I was saddened to get the news the other morning of Katie’s passing....but I am so grateful I was one of the lucky ones to have her in my life. From pre-school to reuniting as neighbors freshman year of college to deciding to be roommates our sophomore year. We laughed a lot and had so much fun together. She is the constant in my college memories and in recent years I loved reminiscing with her. Her beautiful smile and positive attitude will be missed by so many. I loved her dearly and she will always be in my heart. My thoughts are with you, John, Claire and Justin, Chris and Dave, during this difficult time.

The past few days have been filled with memories of my dear childhood friend, Katie (as I knew her). I am teaching my son how to roller skate and I think of her every time we put on the skates. She was such a sweet person and I bet she was an amazing mother. Deepest condolences to all of her close friends and family from me, my brother, sister, and father.

Chris and Dave, and other members of Katie's family,
Our hearts go out to all of you on this tragic loss. Sam has kept us up to date on Katie since they were roommates at SLU, and talked their way through the entire year! Although we haven't been in touch with Katie since then we were always glad to hear of her accomplishments.
