Big John was the most animated neighbor in our neighborhood. His smile was as wide as he was tall. We know, Rose, Lucia and grandchildren that he has left a wonderful legacy for all of you however it has left you in a sad state and an empty space in your hearts and heads.

I was feeling nostalgic today and looked up Whitehaven Nursing Home online. I was sad to see that just less than a week ago John Ricci passed. In my teenage years he hired me to work at Whitehaven and was so kind to give me a room to stay in on the 3rd floor. When his Dad became a resident there I was one of the few people who could get him to eat. He always insisted on eating while standing. John looked so much like his Dad. I worked many jobs at Whitehaven, but John Ricci saw how I was with the patients and before long he sent me to Maine Medical Center for classes. He always treated me so well. God bless him and his family. He was a great man and will be missed.

I was so sad to hear of John's passing. What a wonderful, kind man. I treasure the times we would walk our dogs together - just by chance. John was so full of compassion for others and never complained about anything that might have been bothering him. I am presently in Ohio where my mother passed away on February 24. I hope she can meet up with John in Heaven, and realize all of the wonderful qualities of such a remarkable man. I'm sure you Rose, Lucia, and his precious grandchildren will miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love from, the Dawson family
