George was on the police force with my dad, John Joyce. He was a dear friend to both my mom and dad (John and Helen). Heaven is getting a genuine angel in George. He had a heart of gold and was a precious person who meant so much to our family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. God Bless.

I was fortunate enough to have met George Crawford as a young man, when my Dad needed a policeman to aid him during a traffic confrontation with a man who threatened my Dad. It was George who responded to help my Dad, as I watched from inside my Dad car. George addressed the situation professionally and took swift action to control the situation. Sending that threatening individual on how way at the threat of arresting him. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. I recall how George impressed me that day as a police officer in Portland. A few years later a joined the ranks of the Portland Police Department. It was at that time I began to see well beyond George the policeman, but for the real man he was. A real gentlemen, with a true desire to help people from all walks of life. He was dedicated to his role as a public safety officer. It was George that got me thinking that I would like to be a police officer like George. After retiring from the Portland Police Dept. I only hope that I was half the police officer George was. I will never forget George Crawford. and may he may Rest In Peace. My sincere condolences to his family, just know he was a good man.
