Portland – Andrew “Andy” Paul Music, 70, passed away February 19, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born August 12, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida the son of James Lloyd and Thomas Alexander (Jones) Music.

            Andy graduated from Englewood High School, Class of 1964. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany. After the Service, he married Patricia A. Kelly and settled in Portland, Maine. They celebrated 44 years of marriage. He attended Husson College and worked as a systems analyst and programmer for much of his career. He was a communicant of St. Pius X church, served on the parish council and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. He was active in the community and coached softball at Portland North Little League. He was a voracious reader and had an encyclopedic memory. He seldom complained, and rarely said anything negative about anybody. He was fiercely loyal and doted on his family.

            He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters Katherine Music of Manchester, NH, and Allison Music of Portland, and son Paul, also of Portland. He is also survived by his three sisters Ginnie Music , Gail Music, both of Emmaus, PA, Sharon Thompson and her husband Michael of Keystone Heights, FL. Andy had a large extended family, whom he loved very much.

            The family would like to thank the many healthcare staff for their loving care and especially those with Hospice of Southern Maine and at Gosnell House for their excellent care of Andy at the end.

Friends and family are invited to visiting from 4-6 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday February 27, at 11 am, at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue, Portland.
