Portland – Patricia Ann (Frazier) Dancil, passed away on January 20, 2013 in Portland. She was born on March 6, 1945 and was the adopted daughter of the late Marie Fulcher and Henry Frazier. She attended Portland schools and in her 40’s, she earned her G.E.D. Diploma, which was a huge accomplishment for her.
Affectionately called “Pat,” she was very outgoing and full of life. Pat worked for Hostess Bakery, Sears and later owned her own thrift shop on Danforth Street in Portland. Pat was a savvy business woman. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing shopping and just hanging out in the Maine Mall. She had an eye for bargains and she loved to buy and re-sell. She became very successful at it. Short, petite and sweet, that’s Pat!
Pat lived in the moment and thoroughly enjoyed life. She gave her life and put all her trust in the Lord in the 1990’s. She was blessed by so many and so many blessed her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Jean Fulcher and a grandson, Corey Murray. Pat is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband, Solomon Dancil, whom she loved dearly, her children Pamela MacLearn of California, Susan Parks of Alabama, James Horne, Jr. of Massachusetts, Melanie Thomas of Westbrook, Jonathan Hines of Portland, her step-daughter, Sheila Dancil of Portland and Kesha Horne-Fortson who has been like a daughter to her. She will also be missed by a host of grandkids, extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence for their care of Pat during her time there.
Friends and family are invited to a Home Going service on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11am at A.T Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, with interment to follow at Forest City Cemetery in South Portland.
